Quick Nine

DATE: Friday, 13 April 2011
VENUE: Beckenham Place Park
ACTIVITY: Nine Holes of golf

65. Two bogeys but also an 11 and two 8s.

Really rather clement weather. The greens were not in great condition though and it was very tricky to judge the speed. Can’t blame all the three putts on that although I had at least two that finished less than 1/2″ short. Tee shots were pretty steady, but my 8 iron to the par 3 4th took a most unjust kick right. Golf is so cruel: A good shot that went unrewarded. Without that kick right it was a GIR.

Fairway shots remain a great problem for me though, with thin shots outnumbering lofted shots by about four to one. The flush shots stayed flush though – I nearly got a GIR on the 2nd.

Chipping was still good but the longer short game was pretty poor and I seem to have completely forgotten how to hit out of bunkers.

Average driving length was 165.9yds with a top of 187. Nice to get a round in after work!
