Just when you think you’ve got it…

DATE: Wednesday, 20th June 2012
VENUE: Beckenham Place Park
ACTIVITY: 18 holes of golf

This evening I joined up with another complete stranger. Last time it was Mick. This time, Mike. He had a slightly getting-behind-himself swing but he played well and finished with 88. Really nice guy.

I scored 110 (55/55). Can’t say it was much good overall until  the middle-end of the round when I started to drive tee shots properly (hit five of the last six – three over 180yds). I bogied the 15th (hardest hole on the course) having parred it last time – that’s good, by the way –  and also bogied the 2nd hardest hole (again, good). Finally, I scored a six in near-darkness on the last, which is usually my nemesis hole – I’d take that score in broad daylight, let alone at about 9:50pm.

Putting was pretty poor, with only two one-putts which barely offset the five three-putts, and five bunker shots from just two bunkers.
